you must have a body lift right? if so, try ot move your winch up farther so that it won't be to low. the lower the winch, and as far out as it will be to fit the winch will make a big difference. if you make the winch mount on teh same line the bottom of the grill is on, then you will be money. thats what i did. then i stuck out the bumper like 7 inchs so i could mount the winch. bar minium so it wouldn't take to much clearance.

the section of solid red rectangle is the frame , my idea was to bolt on a 4"x4" section to the existing frame...No lower or No wider, then cut the grille ect to slip the winch into it ,so as u said..not to effect ground clearance or Approach angle, well aslittle as possible

I think you've got the right idea. You're going to have to stick out reasonably far between the frame rails to fit your winch on there, but make sure you suck it in as tight as possible on the outside of the frame rail:

This is what I rigged up last year, it's treating me okay...The bottom portion is 2x4" rect. tube, round tube is 2" .120wall HREW. If I did it again I'd probably go with 2x6 or 4x6" between the frame rails (for a winch) and then cut out my old turn signal lights and run some tube out that way leading towards the tire. I really want more room towards the outside of the body to get a tire up on a rock....

I was thinkin today to cut the lower part of the rad support infront of the rad. so the winch could slip in more ..

but i wasn't sure on the structual change this would cause ,or the fab needed to restrenghten it..
