I finally got around to installing the skid plate that I pulled of of my last parts rig. The po made it from a peice of 3/16" plate, way more beef then I'll ever need. He also did a good job bending it, and all I had to do was modify the rear bracket to clear a body mount, and drill one new hole (ok, two because I messed up). The plate mounts with two 3/8" G8 bolts to the front of the frame's x-member, and with one 3/8" G8 bolt to the side of the frame by the drivers side spring. There was another bracket for the right side, but I'm not sure I need it, so I'll leave it off for now.
I scrapped the heck out of my nice paint job, and as you can see I had to run the exhaust hanger through the front of the skid plate. The po put on a crappy duel set up that dumps out in front of the rear tires.

I tried to protect it by placing a towel on the jack, but as you can see, that didn't work. It also rubbed alot on the tail pipe, and the paint not being fully cured didn't help. I'm gonna get back under there later and brush on some more of the ancient stop rust paint I used.

Thanks. I was going to put it in tomarrow whitch would have given it over 36 hours drying time. The can said fully curred in 24 hours, It only ended up with about 15. But my plans for today went to heck and I needed something to do.
