I went or called every auto parts store around and nobody can get a choke therastat for my 87 GW 2150. the dealer wants 60.00, I hung up laughing. does anyone have one or any Ideas?

For that price you can get a good rebuild kit with a new choke thermostat included. Just the thermostat itself should cost around $15.

You can call Electro-Dyn Electronics Corp. at 1-800-716-8747. I think the part you want is No. 5106-C, but their tech guy will know for sure.

And by the way, your vehicle's original carb is a Motorcraft 2150.

After a couple of used stock style replacement choke stats I went to a auto place and looked through the books and found the correct one it was $30.00, I didn't like that so I went to a yard and found several old fords with the last of the carb type motors and they all seemed to have the same style of stat but different from ours, I found one that had the pop rivets drilled out and had screws, pulled that one and took the different style wire/connector and wide holding ring used to give it a better ground, installed it with it's parts and have had no problems ever sense, even the line on the stat lined up with the rich/lean marks.

I looked at it and could not find any #s it just said motorcraft on it.
