Need some advice from experienced FSJer's. I have an 88 GW that is going to need new tires soon (stock height), but I have some decent 31x10.50's from an abandoned XJ project. Do I really to lift the wagon to make these fit? I don't want to trim fenders, so if/when a lift is in order what is the best affordable lift option for say a budget similar to replacing stock tires 300-400?

Body lift? Add-a-leaves? Blocks rear and lift springs front only? Any scavenging/cannibilizing ideas?
Trying to figure out if this is do-able thanks...

They'll fit, just a little rubbing when flexed out.

Can get 1.5" or so pretty cheaply by doing shackles in the front and match it with blocks in the rear. Bout the easiest/cheapest lift you'll get. Next would be a body lift.

Welcome to the board. Body lift is probably the cheapest way to go.

You can get about 1.5-2" from AALs, I used Rancho AALs (about $100) and got a good 2.5", because my stock springs were sagging pretty babdly.

Thanks for the replies, I think I will try them out without a lift and wait awhile for the budget to do full spring packs...

Thanks,

blowing smoke right now because the gw is still in pieces in the carport, but imho, a good move for any gw - not to be hard-cored - is bj's 2" lift kit.
