I posted this in the general tech section too, but I realize a lot of us don't stray from the off road tech section very often, so figure I'll cross-post....

the 727 finally bit the dust. Surprised it lasted as long as it did...anyway, pulling it tonight, hope to start rebuilding in a week or so. got 2 tranny coolers already installed in vehicle, putting a transgo shift kit in it during the rebuild. Any advice, warnings, etc?

anyone know of a good rebuild book or video on the 727? it's my first trans rebuild....

any additional things I should install? deeper oil pan? new torque converter? etc?

Thanks dudes, I realize I've bugged you guys a few times on this topic, but now it's actually going to happen, figure I'll get everything straight in my head.... :D

one more question, do we have the lockout or non-lockout version of the 727 in our rigs?

New torque converter is suggested. You should have a lockout torque converter in your rigs. I personally take my trans out and have a shop do the rebuilding and then reinstall myself. Last one cost me $460 to have rebuilt. I would also suggest an aluminumn oil pan that is finned for extra cooling and they generally come with drain plugs.
