I'm about to purchase the Edelborck performer manifold with egr (3731). I have 3 questions:

1) The Summit recommends a throttle cable adapter. Does this adapter attach to the Manifold or the carburetor. I have a Holley prjection TBI, Do I need this?

2) Summit recommends a bolt kit. Are these different from the stock bolts? Do I need this?

3) Is the EGR worth the trouble? I'm not worried about emissions.

I dont know nothin about manifolds so any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

QB]It attaches to the carb stud, if I remember correctly. You don't have to have it, but for $20, it's money well spent IMO. I got one on mine and made everything much easier. I doubt if there would be any mounting differences b/w the holley and edelbrock.

Thanks SB for the tip. I ordered my manifold with bracket from Mustangs Unlimited. Got a great price but, they don't konw much about Jeeps. I'll put it in once I build up the nerve.

The throttle cable adapter shifts the linkage over slightly. If you can, Edelbrock includes a print so that you can make your own. I would get the bolt kit, they are clean and for the money, why not? It is harder to block off EGR than just use it. This is a subject of debate around here, but I believe there are benefits even if you aren't worried about emissions.

The throttle cable adapter bolts with two bolts tothe manifold. It is to move the cable attatch point forward abut 3/4 inch so that the cable is not pulling the throttle open at rest. For some reason the ed manifold does not put the cable in the same position in relation to the carb. I did not buy one, but redrilled and "bent" my stock one to fit, works fine, but if I had it to do over again I would save the trouble for no more than it costs, and buy the braket. This for the stock throttle cable though, so I don't know if it would apply to TBI. I went non-egr, and if you are not worried about emmisions I think that's the way to go.
