Ok i've done the search and havent exactly found what i was looking for. I need a small lift on my 80' J10. For a quickie can i just run to pepboys or napa and get some 2" blocks for the rear and some lift shackles for the front? Is it something i can get away with, without doing any other mods? As well as where can i get lift shackles for the J10?? I'm sorry if this is out there somewhere but i had no luck with a specific search.

I would get some cast iron blocks for a local 4x4 shop. The aluminum ones suck, as the u-bolts are weak (I have broke them before). Lift shackles up front will only give you 0.75-1 inch of lift.

yes dont get the alum blocks. very unsafe. as far as the front. make you some, though its not recomended to have that much of a shackle i did on mine. they just caused my steering to walk alil bit more.

So if i get 2" blocks in the rear how long should i make the shackles??? Or should i just let a shop deal with the #'s. And can i do this with no other mods

BJ's has 1" lift shackles for up front. No other mods are needed for so little lift.

ok.....i dont wanna become a pest with this....but obviously 1" lift up front and say a 1" in the rear is gonna give a biut more flex to my 31's.....but sadly still won;'t make life easy on my 35's?

If you want 35's with room to move, you need a 6" lift. They fit with a 4", but may still rub offroad.

Yes, even on a J10. 33's fit stock if you have good springs, but they rub pretty bad offroad. Hell I rubbed my 31's with a 2.5" lift on my J10. Not on the flares, but the inner fenders. With a 4", 33's will only rub on the inner fender well in back, front hsould be completely clean. 35's are fine for street, but flexing them will make them rub, especially in back. Unlike WT cherokees, the rear fender wells on a J-Truck are not very deep. Doesnt take much to rub on them.
