Hey, just putting a 3" body lift on today and wondering if I can fit 33" tires. Will I have to re gear? I really don't want to.

are you wheeling this rig? what are your stock gears? i seriously doubt you'll have to. i've seen guys with 3.07s wheel 33s. not saying it's great but i need more info.

With a widetrack you shouldn't have trouble fitting the 33s and if it's a 70s widetrack with 3.54s then you should be fine. My step dad's '76 Chief with 33s and a 4" lift and 3.54s is a nice setup. If it's a narrow track you'll have problems with 1/4 panels rubbing the tires when flexing the suspension unless you do some trimming. Also, if you're talking about an 80s Grand Wagoneer with 2.72s then running 33s is going to make it so you take off like a turtle.

dish: no. you would need about 4" more lift to fit them, but about 7" more to fit them well. Unless you cut the flares off.

mines a 83 wag ltd--got the lift in uesterday--looks good. I had to cut all but 4 of the bolts out of the frame-from above none the less. I dont seriously off road its mostly a daily driver-but we live on a farm so it gets some off road use.

If you have the tow package you'll have 3.31 gears which will make the 33s liveable. If you don't then you've got 2.72s and you'll be hating hills and accelerating. You'll have to do some significant trimming to fit 33x12.50s. You can reduce the amount you have to trim by using a narrower tire like a 33x10.50 or 33x9.50. With a 12.50" wide tire and only 3" of body lift the tires will tag the front fenders while turning and only slightly flexing. I have 31x10.50s on my stock narrow track with 3.07s gears. It takes off like a turtle, but goes down the highway easily at 75.

The back will have to be trimming no matter what width tire you use. The fender well just isnt big enough for a 33 too fit inside of.

37's on an 83 wide track with 6 inches of lift??? Is this at all possible?
