rear defroster question

Hi,
The rear defroster in my 90 gw has never worked since i had it. Finally got around to opening up the tailgate and found the drivers side wire to the glass had diconnected at the plug. Reattached and now when I press the button the orange light glows dim on the switch and the relay in the rear starts buzzing like crazy. Does anyone have an idea? I figured a bad relay but dont want to just start throwing parts at it.Thanks.

I think that relay is a timer and safty switch also. I never priced one. I bet it is expensive.

Take a voltage check at the connector that you hooked up. If you have 12 volts while the switch is actuated, it's a bad relay. If not, change your switch.
