There was lots of wrenching going on at the KOA this year made easier by helping each other out. Thanks to Steve for having C-clamps handy so I could limp back from the trial, Micheal for bring along the large jack stands and hydraulic jack, Kenny with the monster lug wrench and helping me swap the big meats, Flints quick-start that he carries in his back pocket smile.gif , Oh, and Phils shovel that got left behind. I'm sure I missed someone. It sure makes it easier to go out there when you got friends.
Here are some pics from the trail ride on Friday. Story is that some of the trails in the area were officialy closed due to snow, including Black Bear, Imogene and Pouhghkeepsie. But after this day, Poughkeepsie was un-officially open complements of the IFSJA! We set out with the goal of making it to "the shelf", playing and heading back. But we did not know until we got there that the road was closed before the shelf.
The trail head:

We start at the alpine loop trail head also known as Engineer road. The start can get very bumpy

Stop at the old mine

Just Purty!

Poughkeeps is probably the most "technically" challenging trail in the area and has a couple of "optional" obstacles.

Pictures don't give justice to the difficulty of the shelf.

AND being asked to remove his wood from the campground. Hhhhhmmmmm. I don't think this qualifies for a recount tho. Maybe we do need some consolation prizes? I guess I should start working on some t-shirt designs.

Anyways, you still have more rescue tows on your belt than I do on Poughkeepsie. Just repaying the favors ;)
Krista, get off it! tongue.gif You and Flint rightfully deserve the BOA of SHAME!

Hmm, let’s see. I don’t have All the pics since I was doing some strapping of my own. Kenny strapped Heimeken, I strapped Kenny, Heimeken strapped Michael and I also strapped David. I strapped somebody else but I forgot whom. Anybody have any pics?
edit: Oh, and the only two jeeps that made it through the snow without strapping were J20’s.

..
... And the DVD shows Josh D trying to strap Michael from the back. Errrrrrrrrr that is to say..... pull the "redwag" out of the snow from the rear. But Josh couldn't get enough traction on the loose rocks so Jaime strapped from the front.
... For those that don't know... These guys couldn't see where the 'road' was and drove into two holes filled with snow and across a shale hump..
twistedframe and Jaime: your DVDs will be mailed 1st. class Tuesday the 9th.
Have a good one ;) and CUL.. Don S..

Kenny - Krista has J20 envy, that's all... ;) We humbly accept the boa of shame. Heck, I qualify just for running over my dog 2 weeks ago... Butter is doing purty durn good now considering the incident could have very well killed her. :(

And yes Steve, we know us truck guys got those Waggy's beat...I forget who said it exactly but I must quote from what I overheard at the camp one day, "once you've see one (waggy) you've seen them all". LOL! ;) No offense to you Wag owners, just making fun tongue.gif
Flint don't feel to bad about Butter, I almost ran over Steve

FUN taken  !! I tell ya, we saw a 79 J20 come by the house Wednesday. Never seen it before. It was purty black and silver... The guy pointed at the J4000 and said "nice truck!". I gave him thumbs up and started drooling at the sound of the duals as he puttered down the road.
:D

I don't feel so bad now, thanks. I would feel bad if you ran over Steve tho! ;)
