My 84 GW is slowly coming to life. I've just put the new carpet in and sealed pretty much all of the leaks. Now, my wife and family (3 kids) all want to ride in daddy's truck. I need to replace the seatbelts for the back seat. I'm planning to get generic ones from Advanvce Auto or Pep Boys. My question is this: Can I use any grade 8 bolt or better or do I need to scrounge for original torx seatbelt bolts? I broke 3 torx tools getting the old ones out, not to mention ruining them in the process.

Thanks for the info.

I see no reason why you can't use a replacement grade 8 bolt.....I personally think the factory went with torx just to discourage tampering.....

Are you putting three-point belts in the rear? I'm thinking about doing this.

As for the 3 pt. safety belts, I know they are available in the JC Whitney catalog. Different colors and lengths available. Anyone have an alternate source? Any successful installs?
