Can someone PLEASE explain this to me, I started the new engine that I just put in and it started smoking on the passenger side exhaust. The whole pipe was smoking all the way back and blowing smoke out the tail pipe. I have dual exhaust and it was not doing it on the drivers side. I thought for sure I was blowing oil in to the exhaust or somthing like that. I let it run for about 20 minutes thinking that it might be just grime burning from working on it and it never went away. Needless to say I was quite upset. Well right before I came into the house I wanted to start it and see if I could get a better location so I could ask what it was here. When I did it did not smoke at all and it ran better than it has so far. ???? http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~zeimet/ubb/confused.gif http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~zeimet/ubb/confused.gif ?????? Will it smoke again or was there just somthing clogged up?

I am also doing away with my SOA. I am going to go with the original suspension and a 3" body lift so I can fit my 32X11.50's. I am so tired of messing with it.

PorkChop,
Was this the first time you started it? And what color was the smoke? Black grey white? I'll give you a call at work tomarrow & see if we can figure it out...

The smoke was white and thick. I started it again today and it did not smoke and it ran fine. I am so puzzled on this.

New pipes? Maybe it was some kinda coating/ shelf rust preventative grease burning off.

porkchop, it didn't smell like antifreeze did it?
If it did, are you sure about the head gaskets?
Did the head bolts go ok??

PorkChop,
Start the beast back up and pull off your radiator cap. If your getting bubbles in your coolant you've got a blown head gasket. The coolant might be seeping into the cylinder. Also check your oil, if its a blown head gasket, your oil will look like a milk shake. Let me know.
