I got the guages in the mail today, hooked em up and I HAVE A GAS GUAGE!!!
Probably for the worse, I can actualy see the needle moving towards E! The sending unit may not be working properly. I drove about 50 miles and used a half a tank.
Anyhow Thanks a ton!!!!!! http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~zeimet/ubb/smile.gif

Fifty miles on half a tank sounds about right for my rig.

I used get about around 50 miles for around a quarter tank, but my 360 was tuned up before it got bad oil pressure.
I am watching TPIGuy's TPI injection project with great interest. Any way to save gas,and improve throttle response while doing it seems worth the $900 to me!

Don't worry, Skye - there's plenty of room for another tank where your spare tire used to live... http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~zeimet/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Is it just me, or was jeep nuts for plugging a 21 Gallon tank into a V8? Imagine this! My Gladiator tank is only 18 - 20 gallon. I'm figurin' if I carry two spare 5 gallon gas cans on board, I can make it from gas station to gas station.
I guess the Buick 350 I'm dropping in got about 11-12 MPG on the delivery trip up to me. If it's true, I'll get about 220 Miles out of a tank (assuming she's holdin' 20 gallons). Cripes, my S-10 gets more than that on a 13 Gallon tank.... but then... my Gladiator would eat my S-10 for a snack.....

WHEN i BOUGHT MY 79 WAGONEER in Las Vegas I filled it up and had to refill it in Baker Calif. Then again when I got home in Azusa CA. Of couse It loaded with my friends furniture inside and on the roof rack and I drove 90mph all the way.

I have actually found a truck with worse gas mileage than my J-4000, our 79 bronco with 36 inch tires and detroits, 6 mpg at best, but hey it is unstoppable http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~zeimet/ubb/smile.gif!

Well, it READ 1/4 of a tank left but filled up when I put in only 5 gallons. So, the milage isnt TOO bad. Still may make me trade it for a Trooper (aka no power) one day but it will do for now. Could be worse http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~zeimet/ubb/smile.gif

a jeep forum is not the place for this, but since you mentioned troopers,i thought id brag alittle about the one a friend built.is a trail monster out of an 85 trooper.its got the top cut off, snorkel,a samuri roll bar, a custom 5 inch body lift, front and rear welded diffs, and 32x11.5 super swamper tsl sx's. its really cool. it actually looks alot like a scout. mst people cant figure it out. for some reason they usually think its a nissan or a mazda. now all he needs to do is ditch the ifs...

Skye, glad they helped. All others--my vehicle is a 1978 model with a 401 V8. Gas mileage? Forgettaboutit. I'm in major shock because I traded up from a Geo Tracker, but I've gotten used to it now.
