View Full Version : Steering Filter

There is a filter (like an oil filter mounted on a T) between the pump and steering gear on my rig. I don't think it's stock. Is this a gimmick, or does it do any good. I'd like to eliminate as many potential leaks as possible.
Thanks,

Unless you're entering the Baja 2000, that's just gimmicky. There is very little chance that impurities in your power steering fluid will be large enough to cause problems. I'd get that filter out of there, like you said, to reduce the number of possible leaks in the system.
