Hurculiner under the hood?

I've been working under the hood of my 84 GW, and I thought about the engine compartment paint. The original paint is in good shape, but the truck is about to go from beige to RED!! Would Hurculiner be a good choice under the hood?

Yes, it will. I just asked the same question of one of my clients, who sprays truck bedliners for a living. He said it will resist heat well enough and also makes a decent sound deadener. PPG makes plenty of colors available.
