Help! When I switch to 4wd the transfer case sounds like it is slipping. The Jeep will move forward but it has this terrible sound like an old auto tranny that is slipping a gear. Is this a problem with the t-case or could it have something to do with the central axle disconnect (CAD)?
Is there a way to bypass the CAD without causing any damage to the axle or the t-case?
Anyone have any ideas for a starting point?
Thanks!

First, you need to dissasemble the xfer case, then send me the planetary gears. All will be well in the morning...

Seriously, I am in need of a planetary gear set from a 229. So, if you should discover that the solution to your problem is a new 229, I could really use the planetary from the old one.

Sorry Thomas, I just fixed the problem. The vacuum motor for the mode rod was seized. I soaked it in oil and worked with it until it moved freely. All is well now! http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~zeimet/ubb/smile.gif Good luck in your search.
