My '84 GW's tranny has deposited a puddle about 3 feet in diameter under the left side of my truck. It has been sitting for about a week and about a week before that I put in about a pint of ATF (Yeah I'm sure it went down the tube and the puddle wasn't there after I filled it). There's so much grim under my truck that I can't really tell where it's leaking. Looks like possibly from where the linkage comes out of the case. Does anyone know if there is a seal there that can give out? Any other tips would be appreciated. And since I found the puddle and threw down some kitty litter it seems to not be leaking (at least not much). It's almost as if there was a leak "up high" as opposed to in the pan or pan gasket. What a bloody mess! http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~zeimet/ubb/eek.gif

yep, the seal around the shifter. mechanic said that the only way to get at it is to remove trans. been meaning to post the following warning to you guys.check out the atf lines where they go around the front of the oil pan. the line is s'posed to be stood off in a bracket. if it isnt, it can rub a hole in itself and cause a leak. it smoked the trans on my 84.b careful out there.
