I bought my '88 GW in Feb. 2000 and the guy had had the transfer case rebuilt. The I.D. tag has been removed and the 4X4 indicatior conector is not connected and has no where to be connected. The part numbers are: front part of case - 15366; the rear - 15367. Did the case get traded out or did something not get put back on?
Also I am having a difficult time going from 2WD to 4WD. Sometimes it goes right in and out and other time it grinds for 20 - 30 secs. before changing. :-( I have checked the vacuum lines and replaced the ones that look worn. I haven't put a guage on anything yet (I don't have one) and I haven't checked the vacuum switch. Does anyone have any ideas?
