I finally got back the 88GW last friday after sitting for about 3 months at the shop. Everything seems to be running well, but I'm a bit concerned about the oil pressure. The owners manual states that it should run about 40psi after warm, if I remember correctly, but I'm only looking at about approx. 28-30 psi. The mechanic who installed the IDA remanufactured longblock mentioned this to me as I picked up the car, and said that after driving the GW for about 40 miles that he noticed the same problem. Then they hooked it up to a manual oil pressure guage in the shop and said that it was holding 60 psi after warming up. It's an AMC 360 2bbl. I've checked the oil, the engine for leaks, but that's about as far as my mechanical skills take me. Any suggestions. I just spent $2600, and don't want to screw up the engine from the start. Thanks in advance

This is an oft-repeated problem on this forum. Go back to your engine guy and ask if the money you spent included a NEW timing chain cover. The distributor drive and oil pump drive gears cause wear, which in turn causes a reduction in oil pressure.
