I am ordering a lift for the '88 GW today.
I want 2.5" to 3"... not 4" I really don't want to go any bigger than that. I like the look of the semi-low wagon, I just want to aid its off-road ability a little.
This decision eliminates the Superlift or Skyjacker 4".
I think it leaves only the Rough Country 3" spring set, the Rancho Spring/Add-A-Leaf or various all-corner Add-A-Leaf sets.
I am concerned about keeping the old (13 year/125,000 mile) springs if I use an AAL or block combo. The Rough Country is an obvious choice except I've heard that it is "rough"... ironic huh.
I need advise... I'm going to trust you and buy today!
Thanks,
Mark

The spring lifts advertised are not always what you get.
On my CJ7 I installed Superlift 2" softride front springs to replace my sagging front end and lift the truck slightly. Guess what, the front end ride height is stock (as is the front end, no winches ect). I didn't bother installing the rear springs since they were fine and the truck was level. The springs have held up well over the last 2 years.

Not many options when you want to replace the springs of a wagoneer, the only 2 i know off you have already looked into.
If you really want to replace all the srpings, go with the rough country. but if you want the cheapest way, go with 2 inch rear blocks and a big shackle in the front. The shackle would have to be 4inch longer than your stock one, that would give you 2 inch lift in the front.

Be carefull though, if that long shackle breaks, you will probably fly off the road and kill something. Be carefull!

longer shackels do affect pinion angles, and caster, both of which can affect how a vehicle tracks, and rides on the street,as well as adding vibes if it makes a big difference in the angles at the t case and axle yoke.
they also will add extra stress to your springs, causing them to be flatter,or even have a negative arch.
im not a big fan of shackel lifts.

I agree on the shackle lift being a bad idea. I had extended shackles on my old 79 scout along with 4" lift springs. On a fourwheeling trip, the bolt that holds the spring stationary on the front axle sheared off, sending my drivers side tire into the fender about 6 inches. I couldn't turn the wheels, and the scout was in a creek bed in about 4" of water. The long shakles all got bent and were replaced with stock. If i did not have the long shackles on there, then i could have saved myself the trouble of having to tear apart the leaf sping in a creek bottom. It also handled sooo much better with the stock shackles.....just my $.02 worth. Good luck
