I just got a new '77 wag with a 360 that has been sitting for a while. It drives great when warmed up but when it is cold it is a PITA. I can get it to keep running on his idle and then kick it down and it is ok. But when you go to move the truck it just dies. I does this unless it is really warmed up. Any ideas on what it could be? The guy was getting it ready to use and didn't finish. It is in great shape besides that. Any ideas where to start looking?

sounds like its running lean when on choke. check the choke settings, and make sure the accelerator pump is working.

I'd check the choke first.

Mine ran bad when cold too.

When I put on the 4350 carb I bypassed all the CTO stuff. Know it runs great cold or hot. I don't know if it was the carb swap or the bypass ,but it might be worth checking into.
