After stopping the other day I heard my 91 Wag hissing up front. All the sudden antifreeze shot out the bottom for about a minute. I had not been running hot at all. I put water in it the next day and let it sit. I checked it later and some had leaked out. I filled it up again and it didn't run hot at all. Water just keeps running out. I can't see it come out just sitting there.....what could be the problems? Radiator leak, Thermostat, hose? How do I check, and how much is a new radiator? Even though I have a small little import that is good on gas the Jeep is the daily driver, so I would love to get some feedback.
might wana try pressure testing the whole system...that'll tell you if you have a leak or if your thermostat is jammed.
i think the aoutparts stores carry inexpensive pressure testers, but you may have to have a mechanic do it if you cant fiond one or dont want to buy it.
when my rad went bad i was losing water from pinsized holes on the top. only leaked when real hot and at high rpms

Thanks for the insight. It will leak a gallon a day at least. Strange thing is, if I don't drive it, it doesn't leak. If I fill it with water and drive about 8 or so miles, I park it and about three minutes later water will pour out the bottom for three to four minutes. I got under it and tried to see where it is coming from, but couldn't really tell. All I saw was two steady streams of water coming down from the far left and far right side of the radiator, with the majority coming down on the right side.

Bad radiator cap and/or your overflow line is leaking.

Another possibility is a pin hole leak either in the hose, the top tank, or the tank inlet from the engine. None are going to be easy to find, but I'll suggest using a mix of water, and dishwashing liquid and look for bubbles. Spray the suspected areas down well, and with a little luck you'll find it.
If this fails, pull the radiator, drain COMPLETELY, seal ALL the openings (especially the transmission cooler holes), and submerge the radiator in a large tub of water, and look for air bubbles.

Gary has the right idea. Have the cooling system pressure tested and you will know where all the leaks are. Cheap quick and easy.
