Not on the weekend, but I might could come by tonight, or during the week next week.

One day, I will live in the same city as my girlfriend.

Ex lived in Athens, current girl lives in Macon.

What is the Jeep doing? Other than sitting - I guess.

Ive been told it more then likely the powervalve but i changed the carb and had the same problems. I put it gear and give it gas and it stumbles and dies. I think i just need another set of eyes on it!

My address is actually marietta as well. Except I live on Powers Ferry Rd. Where are you?

So when are you wanting to look at it. I do not claim to a miracle worker, at least not with Jeeps.

Was the Wag running well before and has crapped out recently, or what?

Jeremy, two other things to consider:
1. bad fuel filter (ie, might have sucked the filter sock off the pump and into the end of the line in the gas tank);
2. bad cat-converter......

Last time you set the timing and idle, did you do it warm, in gear and with a meter of some sort?

Cause is you set the curb idle in park, you don't have the umph! to run at idle in gear.

Was the other carb a know good carb? Cause bad power valves are common.

Also, the fuel pump may not be pushing enough fuel through, although this is not as likely.

If you can't remember the last time you changed your fuel filter, now it the time to try it.

Jeremy:

Even though you might still have carb problems (I remember the issues at the wrench-a-thon), my vote is definitely to look at the catalytic converter. It may be that the ceramic element inside has come loose and turned sideways just enough to restrict full airflow. If air can go in but can't get out...adios to the power. It'll idle okay, but the second you start trying to suck more air in the carb, the engine chokes on it since it can't escape through the exhaust manifolds to the cat. Before you tear everything apart, try disconnecting the pipe at the base of the y-pipe, and take her for a spin. If you get power, you got a crapped-out cat. Good luck!

Ryan did you ever get the power steering pump in? If you need to come over and see mine just let me know. You might need to bring a step ladder to get into the engine compartment tho. The top of the hood is about to my shoulder and I haven't even put on the 35's yet.

Jeremy:

did you check out that cat converter? If it's okay, then you got two bad carbs...Blake's rig won't pass emmissions, so RedWag's sitting in the front yard...been too busy to figure it out!

billyrb
02-22-2003, 01:45 AM
yeah, mine won't pass emissions yet either.....maybe because IT AIN'T RUNNING YET?!?!?!

Dagnorm

Oufff, If Alabama ever get emission laws I'm up the creek. I took a hammer drill with a 1" bit and "cleaned" my catylitic converter out. You ought to have seen how far it flew when I cranked it up. lol. oh well, talk at all you guys later.
