Hey, guys! Ever since Brad's get-together back in July, our rig's been sitting dead in our driveway from a fried wiring harness. Been so busy with new job I haven't even had time to go pull the harness out of Kimbrough's parts rig to resurrect chuckwag! If I throw some pig on the grill and some beer/soda in the cooler, and maybe even vacuum the pool for an afternoon swim, can I entice anybody over on Saturday, 8/31 to help us out? Labor day weekend might not work out for most, but if so, let me know if you can attend, and we'll make some plans!

Thanks!
CR and Blake

Crap Charles! You know I'd do anything to help, but Laura-loo and I are moving to East Point Labor Day weekend...
Gotta get rid of that parts rig soon...

Can you UPS/FedEx some pig to me?!?!? Mmmmmm... porkchops. Having gravy too?!?!? Just great, I'm drooling on myself... guess I better have dinner. Good luck ChuckWag smile.gif

James:

I'm afraid that by the time the pig made it out to Long Beach, it might not be too tasty! My wife has an aunt that lives there, but she's from Maine and probably wouldn't know good barbeque if it met her at the door! Anyway...southern BBQ is the best, but there's probably folks out that way that would take issue with that!

Kimbrough:

Mebbe if we can't scare up a group for next weekend, I'll bring Blake out to your place Sat am to help move your heavy stuff while I pull the harness from parts rig. We'll let Loo supervise him...he'll walk off a cliff for a pretty gurl!

Hey guys...

More than willing to help out wherever I can. I have a previous engagement for Labor Day, but I may be able to squeeze in some good Jeep time. Just lemme know what the final plans are. Kimbrough...if you need help moving, send me an e-mail, I'll be there.

Charles, I'd love to help but I'll be in fla for labor day weekend. :( :D Gonna do some muddin with my cousins down there :D
Kimbrough- I've got your t-shirts :D We'll get together eventually.

Beyond that any free weekends are probly spoken for painting the house I promised to do last year and building a deck I also promised last year. I might surface again in oct/nov. but gotta get caught up on "honey-do's"

I may or may not be able to make it. My dad's b-day is that weekend and my sis will be in town. But we'll see.

Guys!
You are welcome to come to my warehouse and have a Wag-Pickin' party! Not quite as tasty as pig-pickin' but...
I just have to look like I'm moving to my new home! Maybe ya'll can rebuild carbs and such there, too. Anyone that wants to help move me out, fine. I'll be in and outta there all weekend so leave me money if ya take any large parts...
And by the way - its the RED Jeep! NOT THE PRETTY GREEN ONE!!! smile.gif

Somebody call me 'cause I am way too busy to organize anything else!

Well I'm oredering my lift from BJ'S today. I'm getting my engine ordered this weekend. I should start working on it on 9-7. Anyone who wants to can come over. My father said we can have the wrench at his house. I know it's a short notice but let me know.

Hey, Guys:

Looks like we need to postpone the wrenchin' at my place...I ned to be at Kimbrough's place to help him move some stuff out and pull that harness off his parts rig. Also, I have a confession: I've been snake-bitten by a beautiful 2-doored darling with 2-tone (original yellow/white) paint and perfect body with 3-piece bumpers...Saturday I'm going to pick up my adopted baby...can't tell you too much till she's in my possession...but you'll absolutely drool!!! By the way: anybody got a line on a two-wheel hauler I might rent/borrow? Oh boy oh boy...ChuckWag'sfound hhis long lost sister....I know, I'm a sick b*****d!!! redface.gif )

Charles, just a little advice from a burned wag-owner. Before you tow her home with a tow-dolly, make sure that the lug nuts on the rear are all tight! This past thursday morning, I was having my wag towed by a towing company from one apartment complex (dunwoody) to the temporary apartment in Kennesaw (while our house is being built).....and during the trip, four of the six driver-side rear lugs came off....then, while going through an intersection, the last two studs broke off, sending beige wag flying down onto the wheel & tire.....

The wheel & tire smashed the rear fender up to around the filler neck....the wheel itself is wallowed out so bad that the wheel needs to be replaced. The jeep then slammed onto the rear axle with some force, and ground off a good portion of the drum. So, needless to say, the wag is much worse off than before....

JESUS! I haven't even driven the jeep yet, and it's already had it's first accident! Oh, and from what we can gather, someone at the last complex loosened the lugs. So, as usual, there's nothing I can do, and nobody's insurance is paying for squat. I'll post a few pictures next week.

Oh, and btw, lemme know when the wrench is. I'd like to come by and actually help out this time.

Hey, guys:

I'm sad to hear about bilyrb's misfortune with the towing of his rig---Ryan, maybe you can get the left rear 1/4 panel off of Kimbrough's parts rig before it goes away. I'm gonna head over there Sunday morning to pull the harness for ChuckWag, and to see if we can find some space on someone's page to post pix of the prettiest find I've come across yet---Atlanta guys, you are NOT going to believe what I just brought home. Check your e'mail, and if anyone knows how to post 'em, I want everyone to see a near perfect specimen of Jeep's first-year Cherokee-S...1974. I'm in love all over again!!!CR redface.gif )

I still have the ability to host a wrench. Let me know when everyone is available. Either next weekend or the following. I have plenty of parking and room to work in the driveway.

I'll go for just about anything. I just know that the things I need to do are pretty involved and might not get finished. If you need some help I would be happy to help. Let me know. I'll have to ask permission to go play at someone elses house though. LOL.

Guys:

How about this Saturday or Sunday, Sept 7th or 8th at my place? I need mucho help with wiring issues...I'm a dunce on those things, and even though Blake really tries, he can't get too far when I don't have a clue. Anybody good with wiring?? Anybody in?? Let me know and we'll make some plans.

Thanks!

I'm getting pretty good at wiring issues. Somewhere a PO appeared to have swapped out the interior wiring harness with an incorrect model year and the motor harness was partly burned with several wires shorting out. I didn't realize it until after I bought it but the wiring was all screwed up. I have diagrams for '87 and '88.

However, I'm heading out of town this weekend. I'd be glad to help a later weekend.

Bill:

Thanks for the note--if we go with another weekend, I be in touch.

Bull:

Let me know what Momma says, and we'll fire up the grill. Can't promise it'll be as good as your show though! I'll try to check and see if Marc is available for this weekend. Thanks! CR

I've been absent...sorry, guys! I'm still very much up for a wrenching weekend...I need to do my brakes, re-run some vac lines and get some help tuning my &$%&#*# carb if y'all are willing :D I also want to pick up that tranny if you still have it, Steven. This weekend or the next--either is fine with me.

Guys:

Talked with Marc Banks today...he's been off the computer for a while with virus problems. But good news is, he is in for this weekend at my place! Now that we got the wiring issues in Marc's sights, I'll let you know whether we're shooting for this Saturday or Sunday.

Okay, here's the plan: Saturday morning, 9 am at our place in Sandy Springs. Marc has offered to help us unravel our wiring problems, and my better half will fix lunch for everyone. Just let me know who's coming (include count for spouse and kids if they want to swim), and tell the mommies and crumb-snatchers to bring their swimsuits, towels and floaties! Send me an email message and I'll forward directions to everyone.

THANKS!! Charles and Blake

Those in Atlanta that couldn't make it missed a great time!!! Blake was smiling from ear to ear after getting Chuckwag back on the road. He took it out for a long test drive, and Charles almost had to make him come home!!!

Charles, thanks for the hospitality, Jolie and I had a great time!

Looks like I'm a little late posting to this but my Jeep hasn't got to meet any of yours. If anyone is still planning on getting together please let me know. I could sure use some help trying to get these stuck pinion nuts off to replace the seals. Thanks

Tappst:

Welcome to the best bunch of fsj folks you'll ever meet. A fun bunch of guys, with alot of good experience that all are willing to share. Saw you have a 75 Cherokee S...thought you'd like to see a picture of my recently-bought '74 Cherokee S. I'm not sure how to deal with the pinion nut question you posted on our recent event page (held last weekend), but you may want to post the same question on the technical page and you'll get a good helping of "FSJ hospitality" to solve your puzzle.

Take it easy, hope to meet you soon.

Thanks for the reply. I mistakenly didn't notice the second page of posts to see that the get together had already happened. Hopefully there will be another soon and I'll be able to make it. Can't wait.

When did you guys start using the events forum for these things? I completely missed it!

I still need to rebuild a carb, so when's the next one?
