What gear ratios are you guys running with 31's?
I just went up to 31's from 235's and whatever the stock ratios are just ain't cuttin' it.
I have two sets of Dana 44 3.54's and 1 set of 3.73 and another of 4.10 on a posi carrier that needs rehab.
Of course the 3.54s are the easiest/cheapest and to do the 4.10's I would have to get a new differential for the other axle and rebuild my posi.
What were the stock offerings for 87? it's too cold and dark to go out and look at the tags.

Maybe if I had GWAMP's guard dog I would go outside, But that's another post........

Thanks,
Dave

Unless you have the tow package that means you have 2.73's...which are WAY high. I have 3.54's in my jeep with 31's and its just about perfect.

You probably have 2.73 or maybe 3.31 gears now. Being that you said they aren't cutting it I would bet 2.73s. For 31 inch tires 3.54 gears should be fine and the easiest it sounds. If you are planning on going larger in the future than you might want to consider the lower gearsets now to save some time and money down the road.

Yep, they are the 2.73's. I think the 3.54's will do just fine.

I have 3.54s with 32's and it works great, a little high on the rpm's at 70mph but not that bad.

I've got 3.31's and they work OK with 31X10.50's.
