Massachusetts based event. I went last year. Great turnout, good time, TONS of Jeeps!!
NAME OF EVENT: The Great American Jeep Rally
DATE OF EVENT: Sunday, September 29, 2002
HOURS: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
LOCATION: 575 Hartford Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA (on Route 20)
DESCRIPTIONS OF EVENT: The Baystate Jeepers, Inc. proudly presents
its second annual Great American Jeep Rally to support the NorthEast
Association of 4WD Clubs and to raise money for local charities!
This event will be held again at the Hebert’s Candy Mansion on Sunday,
September 29, 2002 in conjunction with the Spirit of Shrewsbury celebration.
The Rally was such a success last year that the Baystate Jeepers were in demand
to return with another one. This event is similar to the ever popular "cruise nights"
at the Mansion, but it is limited to strictly Jeeps. Any Jeep, to include: off-highway,
stock, military restorations, antiques, monster Jeeps, and so on, may be entered.
The NEA4WDC is dedicated in helping the cause for outdoor recreationalists.
This association is involved with the management of our public lands to keep them
open to the public and clean.
The Great American Jeep Rally 2002 is proud to help support these worthy causes!
ADMISSION: Public is invited to view “Free”, and a suggested donation of $5.00
(or more) for display vehicles.
ORGANIZATIONS: Baystate Jeepers, Inc., NorthEast Association of 4WD
Clubs and the Hebert Candy Mansion.
INFORMATIONAL WEBSITES: www.baystatejeepers.com, (http://www.baystatejeepers.com,) www.nea4wd.org (http://www.nea4wd.org) and

Got directions? If I'm careful the old Waggie might make it... :D :D

For you, it's basically the Mass Pike (I-90) East to the exit to Rt.146 South (don't know the number for that one off-hand, but it's just past Worcester), then take that to Route 20 East, and follow Rt. 20 East a few miles to Hebert's Candy's on your right-hand side.
It's really a great show; we could put up a good FSJ showing this year. Last year it was just me and a really nice lifted Cherokee Laredo on 35's representing the full-size crowd.

Ouray was never even an option for me, but I think I might be able to make this one! : )

I was there briefly in my CJ last year (before I owned a GW) Future in-laws were in town and I couldn't stay, but it seemed a pretty good meet, but sorely lacking in FSJ's.
Would be great to see a good showing this year.
I'm in.

I was there last year in my scrambler but it would be nice to have more FSJs, that's why I wanted to post it here. Might also be a good chance to do some parts swapping. I picked up a few things last years, some shops set up booths and there are some area clubs also. Also if you use the address above maybe you can find directions with mapquest or sometihng. I last year I just took rt9 to rt20 coming east.

Heh,
for those of you with GPS, I made a Waypoint there last year.
The Hebert Candy Mansion is at
N 42°15'39.1"
W 71°41'48.3"
So now you can just straight-line to it! :D :D :D

Now if I could just get the engine changed in the Cherokee and drive that instead....With three jeeps in the driveway (and someone trying to give me a free Postal Jeep) I should be able to find something to drive tongue.gif

Well, I think there was an "ugliest jeep" contest along with some other categories so don't let a not so nice jeep deter you. In fact the contest should be incentive to go :D
Well, I finished new lifters, rods, rockers and valley pan today so I have NO MORE TOPEND TICKING!!!
We should all park in the same area to have a FSJ section.
I'm looking forward to seeing you all there ina week.

Or just take the pike and listen for my ticking lifters!
You can try mapquest directions for the address listed above also if you like.

Yeah, we were outnumbered about 100:1. Saw Panther, Ed, and the SWEET '83 Laredo of... (fill in your name, man; I'm SO bad with names!).
I saw firsthand why Panther NEEDS a rear-mounted gas-tank! smile.gif
I also saw a stock-looking silver '89-'91 GW pull in, but didn't catch up with the occupants.
The teeter-totter was cool, but impossible. I ramped in the low-700's. Seems like 33" is SMALL for tires these days. Found a nearby shop to ream out holes for steering linkage and to build driveshafts.
All-in-all, a great show.

Yeah Bob, it was myself, yourself
GFD- black laredo
chrism- red laredo
Archie- tan j10
dadisdman- red j20 (sorry I missed ya there)
Ed_Jack
And there was a black 80-something J10 but not sure who owned that one.
Marc had a camera but did anyone else bring one and take pics?
The gas tank is actually low on the priority list but I will do it early next year cause this is not pretty smile.gif

After seeing all the nice CJs and scramblers, I'm going to focus on finishing the scrambler, get it on the road and will do the cam in the chero time permitting.

Yeah, it was great to connect some faces to posts, sorry I couldn't stay longer. Fiance is interested in a WJ, and I figure, I better nourish any interest she shows, might pay off down the road. smile.gif Looks like we'll have another jeep before the end of the week! I hope we can all gather again before too long. Also, I hope that the owner of that flat black J10 turns up, I need to thank him for inspiring me to buy my 79. I saw him driving by McDonalds in Needham just before I found mine, and for once I practically drooled in Mickey D's.
Oh, Bob, I bet if someone had lifted one end of that teeter-totter and balanced you, you coulda held it, just getting TO the balancing point seemed to be the prob. smile.gif

Yeah good time guys. I got a few pics. I'll let you know when I get them back. Bob thanks for the tidbits of info. Chris, Ed nice to meet you.
Did you guys see me on the teeter totter? 5 seconds was the best I could do. 3 secs off the lead

I saw you doing that Teeter-Totter, Marc! We need our kids in the back seat leaning back and forward to balance next year! Beautiful family you have there, to go along with your beautiful Laredo! smile.gif
That red Laredo was also sweet; didn't get to talk to Chris, though. and I didn't even see the red J-truck.

Here are the pics guys. In case any of you are wondering us CT FSJrs want to start getting together so check out the post in the general discussion board about it. Here are the pics. The easiest way to view them is to click on ine of the links and then choose to view the others pictures right from the website, or you can still click each link individually. There are also pictures from the previous days jeep show in new milford, ct, maybe you can all make that as well next year. Enjoy the pics and I hope more come next year...I Ended up blowing my Power steering pump seal  as I was pulling into the show itself. It was a a long rest of the day through boston and then back to CT  ..Enjoy! :D
