:D I'll be organizing one convoy from Eastern Colorado. We all know that the more you prepare for trouble, the less of it you get. The more FSJs the better, because that means more parts, mechanics, cell phones, and fun for everybody! Members coming from the north west along I-80 can take I-76 or I-25 south to Denver. We plan on leaving Denver around 10:00am, no meeting place has been decided yet. From here we will head south to Colorado Springs. Input from our Colorado Springs members will determine where we meet thier. We plan to depart the Springs around 12:00pm, people who come in on I-70 can short cut down their and meet up. From the Springs we will head south on CO-115 to US-50. We will take US-50 all the way across the state. It has lots of great scenery that most of us Coloradoans don't see that often, such as the Royal Gorge area and tons of little mining towns. Also, this will slowly take us up and down in elevation, so we'll be able to get a feel for how our rigs are going to do up in Ouray. We will pass through a couple of small towns, like Salida, Gunnison, and Montrose, which are not major metropolitan centers, but they all have parts stores, so limping vehicles will have parts availible along the way. Hopefully we can meet up with anybody who turned south off of I-70 in Grand Junction can meet up with us in Montrose for the last stretch onto Ouray. I like to think we could make it to Montrose around 6 or 7pm(don't worry, it won't get dark until about 9pm). Input from the folks who live down that way can tell us a good place to meet up. of course, none of this is set in stone yet, except that we are going to head the southern route instead of I-70 to Grand Junction, simply because alot of us can't go 80mph, and would like a change of scenery, and it's the same distance either way for the Denver people, and saves the Colorado Springs people an hour or so. So if you are going to be coming through anywhere near this route(go ahead and check the maps) go ahead and post here and we can fine tune the details and change things to make it possible for as many people as possible to attend!! If for some reason(work, wife don't like twolanes, etc.)you can't go or don't want to go this route, go ahead and post on this thread to see if anybody else will be going the same time/route as you. Like I said, the more the better, because less will go wrong! Also, that would be cool if other convoys from further away met up with this one, I can just imagine a line of 50 FSJs all ina row rolling into Ouray, Yeehaa!

At the moment I'm planning to make it this year, it has been close to 30 years (yes I am that old and it sucks)since the last time I was out in that area. When time gets closer please keep me abreast of your plans.

Igrjeep! I stuck ya' on my "buddy" list, and I'll make sure to keep you updated. If ya' plan on staying the night in Denver, I can getcha the hotel phone numbers and such, especially since the most likely meeting place will be the Holiday Inn Express off if I-70. As it gets closer, let me know what your plans are and I'll let cha know mine!
