You FSJers in Chicagoland, how about a meet-and-greet? There are a number of you out there and it is time we got together!

I'm all for it. Where to meet at? Maybe Blue Top in Highland? If they are open, that is...
Doc

let see what kind of replies we get and see if we can't choose a day/place after we see how many will attend.

Where is Blue Top?
i'm assuming he means higland, IN, which is just across the border. it takes about 1 hour to get there from where we are.

Hey I am in Beloit Wion the weekends which is about 1.5 hours northwest of chicago. I would love to get in on this some weekend but I am not sure if I could bring the wag because of several elec. bugs I am tracking down right now. Lets get something going thought it would be cool to meet some of you.

I'd be all for a get together especially at Blue Top- it's in my hometown! Very cool old drive in that been around forever. It's on US 41 about 3 miles south of I-80/94 in Highland, IN. Weekends it turns into a custom car showplace- lots of old street rods, muscle cars, bikes, you name it. But this is mainly during the summer. Iron Horse 4x4 club out of Calumet City, IL meets there on the 1st Mon. of every month. No FSJs in their group, although there was one guy who had a 74 J10 and I've met Dr. Chop there with his J10 hybrid 4x4. I've got to get my engine back together, heads were just finished today. Probably in a couple of weeks, but I'm all for a get together.

I'm in , guys!! The giant Cherokee is finishing a lift and gas tank project right now, but it sure would be sweet to get together somewhere. :D I am in Bensenville, IL. about halfway to most anywhere.

How about White Fence Farm?? They have a real good chicken dinner (or lunch) and I think they are near I80 in the south suburbs.

Its tough - is there a place around where we can see our Wags together, talk shop, then eat?
Alternatively, I know a great cigar bar in Palatine - somehow cigars and Jeeps mix well.
if we went to Burning Ambitions(Palatine) I'm not too sure we would have tons of room to look at jeeps.
however, famous dave's parking lot is huge in addison. it's also right off the highway for people who have to travel aways and EASY to find....

I still think we should meet at Blue Top when the weather gets warmer. One, to show some real American steel. Two, to drive over all those piss-ant low rider mini pickups.

LRRH - I got the TJ in May of last year. Love it!
OK, I'm ready for a big meeting or small one. Perhaps we can kick it off with an after-work meeting? Lets just decide and do it. I've never really seen many FSJs other than my own.

I'm a little "north" of the aim here, but if you're making a list of people in the midwest, I'm in NW Wisconsin....a bit south of Superior/Duluth. I know there's a couple guys from the Cities on here, and Rande from Winona as well. Probably a few more as well in the upper stratosphere here, but not sure. Chicago would only be feasible later, and as an "event" thing for me...not exactly a quickie trip at all! ;) But, a southern WI/MN get-together or might be of interest to me. Do add me to the list, though, if you're pinning us on the map! Thanks...

I am up for lunch at Famous Dave's on a Saturday. I go to COD in Wheaton, and could be there by 1:00 p.m.
After work might not work right now, because it still gets dark too early.
I am making progress on the lift and gas tank. This weekend I think I'll start to tackle the floors. Either of you good with a welder????
sorry i missed saturday, i went to Iowa today(read my post in Gen. Disc.). Um...sorry..not good with a welder. I'm actually thinking about buying my first one soon. maybe we can try for next weekend?? on the other hand, it got dark around 6 on Friday i think, so hopefully it will stay lighter later.

I'm currently waiting on a dropped Pitman arm for the SOA in the '28, and also getting a new front windshield cut at my local Auto Glass Specialists to replace the 4 year old Lexan windshield I've had in there. It's getting too scratched up to see much past the glare!
I'm up for a meeting but with the Caddy 500 motor swap I may end up going thru a bunch of gas if it's pretty far into IL. I only have a 12 gallon tank... :D
I am scheduled Mondays off from work, so anytime on a Sunday/Monday could be good for me.
I noticed after attending the haunted trailride rally that Iron Horse threw a couple years ago, that my '28 (with the sedan delivery body) made it into about 5 or 6 pictures that someone took for the club website. I missed last year's event because of work conflicts. Anybody have the link for the club? I thought it used to be www.off-road.com~iron (http://www.off-road.com~iron) but it seems that link does'nt work anymore...
I remember talking with you, Patrick, at the Top. I had a lot of fun trying to do the rally solo. The trailride made up for it tho, especially since I went thru the woods about 4 times before heading over to the bonfire spot. I was about ready to ask if it'd be OK to go thru the woods in Reverse the last time... :D :D :D
Wherever the meeting place is I'll do my best to be there.
