I know there are some of you still around from the old days... :D I am working on a web project to build a collection of pictures of everyone's FSJ that was at the 40th FSJ Anniversary Celebration also known as the 2002 Ouray FSJ Invasion. As in THE INVASION. I have quite a few on file, but now is an opportunity to submit one of your favorites. If you send me a picture, I will do my dayumdest to include it. Post here or send to my email address at work - flint_boardman@nps.gov. I have a much bigger mailbox at work than at home. I am looking for 800x600 size if you can provide that.

Again - specifically your favorite picture of your FSJ at the 2002 event.

Thanks!

eh, yup... Thanks everyone.

Todd - I think I see 4 recognizable there. You, Daniel <?>, Bryant, DLyons <?>... I just found that pic in 1024 size on my work computer. I must have downloaded some of the pictures here. So, there are more to go through on this end. You want this pic in the album?

So, LRRH, which one would you like in the album?

FSJeeper - look forward to seeing the pix when you can!

Thanks!

Not some copied, east coast :D tongue.gif BS show and shine, right?Well Mr Cole... I have seen some shiney FSJeeps show up at Ouray, but they don't stay that way very long. No sir, they don't. As for invasion... Yes sir, this be the real thing. ;) So to not discourage the east coasters, I want y'all to be nice and welcome them one in all. Youngerjeeper will be one representing the east coast contingency. :D All y'all welcome to the ride above the treeline experience. Oh, and I hear there is occasional drinkin goin on around the KOA in the evenings too...

Hey Dave - ooops... I wasn't sure I had that right or not. Yeah, it was Joe! He romped that Jtruck truck purty hard at Ouray. smile.gif

http://frontier.net/~mystkblu/06ouray/4yrsago/wally_poughkeepsie_02.jpg

Krista and I were both so wrapped up with the event that year, I only took 34 pix that whole week! And that was just for one day out. My favorite one off our camera is Wally just getting on top of Poughkeepsie right as I took out the side wall of the RF tire. ;) My younger sister was riding shotgun and was living in the flatlands of W TX for many years before she came out that summer. She had a death grip on the wing window brace and her 1/2 gallon of Jim Beam when we went up. That was her medication for dealing with the extreme heights and drop offs! ;)

BTW, I did recommend against consuming alcohol at those elevations, but she has never been much for listening to advice.

What is the story with the yellow wag that seems to be a little worse for wear?

RdHawg
02-03-2006, 05:44 AM
IRBOB with Rob from holland riding shotgun, on the last day of the event tested his truck's handling ability at 50mph in a 25mph corner on the way back from a trail ride. A triple gainer over the ditch and thru a fence says he didn't make it. Fortunately Bob was alright, Rob got a few stitches in his head from a non-nailed down toolbox and had to have one finger nearly re-attached. A bit more excitement than any of us wanted but except for the wag I think everything worked out.

fulsizjeep
02-03-2006, 05:48 AM
Woof was a beautiful Waggy too. Pretty sure it had a new 6" spring lift on it when he came up for the Invasion. That is probably a testimony that the handling indeed changes when you lift 'em. He used the lid from a Planters nut can to get that color.

We're still hanging around and made the Invasions for the last 2 years and planning this year. Our M715 we sold to Ethan and it ended up as "Big Scary Jeep" then he sold it. :( I'll have to dig through the photos to see what we have to submit.
