18 mile to the gallon

i did it well we did it a buddy of mine had a 401 in a 74 javalin so we decided to do some tests on it...it started out stock w/2barrel...was getting 9 miles to the gallon ...we replaced the heads with 304 heads, then edelbrock intake, camshaft, 600 cfm carb and headers... it now gets 18 mile to the gallon in the Javelin...try to talk scott int putting it in my G-Wag but hes having to much fun with it...i will keep everyone updated

What is the difference between a 304 and 401 head?

the 304 has smaller intake and exhaust valves i dont know exactly what the sizes are but if you look at them side by side they are noticably smaller
