Guys and gals,

I'm still pretty new to the FSJ world, so help me out. I have an '84 Wag w/ the AMC 360. Is this a Mopar motor? Can I use Mopar/Dodge/Chrysler parts for things like rebuilds, pumps, manifolds, etc. Any light to shed on this would be greatly appreciated. Where do you buy your performance parts and such. How does a 3" lift work on the GW?? Front and rear springs or fornt leafs and rear blocks?? Who makes the best lift for the GW?? So many questions, so little time. Thanx all, peace :D

Welcome.. oh man.. another Steve! We have tons of Steve's and Bob's smile.gif

Uhm, lessee here... No, the 360 is an AMC motor, not the Chrysler one. But, the pushrods are the same as a Chevy non-vortec 350. Many other parts will work with a little machining, like Chevy 400 pistons in a 360 with an AMC401 crank to make a 393 stroker. www.froadin.com (http://www.froadin.com) has a few tidbits about such swaps.

The best 3 inch lift to get your hands on would be probably a skyjacker softride if you can find it, or a Rusty's kit. You basically want a kit with a bunch of thinner leaves so you have height without a kidney-killer ride. I ran a 4" Superlift, and that thing didn't budge one bit, GREAT for jumping and boucning, but useless everywhere else! smile.gif You can do all spring, or spring with blocks in the rear.

Welcome to IFSJA!

The 360 is not a Mopar engine. Although similiar in displacement to the Mopar the 360 in our Jeeps were made by AMC.

For performance parts try:

For the 3" spring lift try:

Good Luck!
