Tranny question or 2

While in Hot Springs this monster mud pit jumped right out in front of me, I did everything I possibly could to avoid it but needless to say I splattered it. Now I have muddy water in my tranny and it's shifting funny. I'm taking it tomorrow to have the tranny pumped but I'm worried it may be hopeless.

Question #1. Can the tranny be pumped and saved?

Question #2. I know where a 84 GW is sitting with a fresh rebuild on the tranny but is it the same tranny as my 88?

Only thing I can help you with is the 84 will be the same Trany. Good Luck on the pumpin it out, flush to maybe? Not sure if that will get it out of the Torque Converter or not. I could tell by the Pic that monster mud pit jumped right out in front of you. Your evassive measures were astounding...........I figured you had it beat!! ;)

same trans.all the 80's used 727

I'm curious how you got mud in the tranny as well. It will have the 727. Might be cheaper to rebuild the one you got than to swap, just a thought.
