Hello Everyone,

I just bought a 1990 GWag with 133,000 miles. It runs great and the only problems are small rust spots, rear windshield wiper not working, interior dome lights out, and rear p-side power window not working.

I don't have time to go over it myself before winter so I'll be taking it into the shop to have it looked over.

Is there anything I should have done specifically? Is there anything I should do to get it ready for winter? (North Shore of Massachusetts)

I'm pretty excited about the truck and it's going pheasant hunting with me this weekend.

Thanks,

Chip

Welcome and congrats on the Wag. If you take it in I would just tell your mechanic to winterize it he should know what needs to be done. Pheasant hunting HUH!!! Wouldn't be able to swing by and pick me up would ya. I would go even as a.................DOG! Sorry I love bird hunting. ;)

Chip, congrats and welcome. Since you're in the rust belt take a real good look for frame rot behind the fuel tank. The support for the tank is a catch-all for mud/salt etc.

These beasts are extreemly cold blooded, so make sure to check/replace the thermostat with at least 195 degrees.

I hear more about these overheating than being "cold blooded" if that is what you mean.

Juice,

I'm up in Marblehead. I grew up in Plymouth near where you are now.
