I Never would have believed it. Memorial Day weekend, went camping with Louise, and towed our "li'l Loafer' trailer. Louise was missing so bad, she shook! I had filled up on regular. I seemed to remember this happening before, missing and 'thinking' it may be gas. Well, I timed her on the vacume guage, set the idel air, checked wires etc. Then I filled up on Super a few days later. After about 100 miles, Louise was again running smooth as butter. Things seemd OK. Today, after being almost out of gas, I added $10 of Regular. After about 5 minutes, we're a'shakin all over, again!! Now, typically I am not really a conspiracy theorists, but I SMELL A RAT. I have used regular gas all my life in various cars. LAtely, for the last year or so, it seems to be junk. Anybody else see this? In Denver, we add that MTB junk, whatever it is, and regular is 85 octane. Anyway, I guess I will bite the bullit and get Super from now on!!!

As my EGR valve started going bad I had to use higher octane gas until it eventually pinged and didn't run that great on super. I replaced it with a new one (anti-knock) and now I run regular again with no problem. Regular here is 87 and premium is 93.

Hmmmmm I had thought EGR, mine passes the various 'finger tests' but I like your thought!

take it off and clean all the carbon build up out of the passageways. sometimes it can hold it open just enough to run poorly. also, switch stations to see if they are the problem...first add some gas dryer to see if it could be a water problem.

HI ELVIRA,
Well, I don't use it all the time, I will get back into using it. I will R&R the EGR this weekend, let you know!

Lowest octane we have here is 87 which I use always, but like Jallenwag stated check the egr could be the culprit
A lot of people on this board have told me that I should be able to run 87 octane in the 360 with no problem but every time I do it runs like crap. I put super in and it runs fantastic. Put on a new carb last year and still had the same problems switching between gas. I don't know.

Screw it, I'm switching to propane! You're right Ernzo, Denver gas sucks. I fill up in Cheyenne whenever I can.
