There's 214 posts under "steering column".
GM is supposingly the column to go with. I remember reading something like '79-83...

A question though, will the mounts be the same as a FSJ?
What models should I look for? Anything that had a stick?
Will I be the first to try this one? ;)

TIA

Which rig Cole?
85 to a 70 is not the same, works with dash cutting, but not close.
My 70 GMC column looks the same as the 68-70-72 does.

AFAIK, 74-91 all mounted the same, at least to the dash, obviously wiring and such is going to be different... The column looks fairly similar to my dad's out of his 89 chebby, other than it doesn't have a shift indicator on the colum... Can't you just pull off the shift sleeve deal?

Tadsal, I need a std. shift column in my '75. The column is there, just that the previous owner broke the turnsignal assembly and then cut the wires in the column. The lower half of the plastic, behind the key ignition is also broken.

Wagonator, I have a '79 auto/tilt steering column outta a wag but unfortunately it was to hard to remove the lower half not to mention the connector was the wrong size to plug into the '75.

I have been searching and it seems that the '68-83? GM columns have the lower plastic section I need. I guess all that is left is to get the right connection for the '75. Probably find that at the auto store.
The real pain with the '79 column is that I couldn't slide the steering wire assembly through. AND you have to completely tear down the auto/tilt knuckle to do any removable of the lower half.
I'll be looking for a GM column and may try the chevy house for a lower section.

Thanks for the replies.
