Tailgate for Cherokee

I was just curious if any FSJ cherokee tailgate will work on my 77 or if there is a certain range of years that only they will work...

Mid 1979 is the latch and striker change.
There are some differences in the weather seals too, not sure abot the exact change over year there.

1980 will definitly not work. I got an '80 for mine and like tadsal said the latches and strikers were different and not interchangable. You can retrofit the '77 latches to the later tailgate with some minor fabricatioin but its a hassle.
