I need the spacer plate that goes in between the carb and the intake manifold, I lost mine and its pretty much the only major thing keeping me from finishing my rebuild right now. I have the 360 2bl, has any of you D/FW guys seen any at a bone yard or know where to get one. All the parts stores keep bringing out the large gasket which I have, but most of them dont seem to understand what I'm looking for. I dont suppose I would get a new one if I bought a new carb? Any info would be appreciated. I still have a few more places to call so I'm going to keep looking.

I just tried to replace mine. The two rear bosses were broke. I bought a new gasket for it. It was called the carb spacer gasket, available at pep boys.
The jeep dealer said they are no longer in stock and that this carb spacer has been discontinued.
the dealer has it. not to bad of a price.

Is it a metal spacer or are youtalking about the thick cardboard thing with plastic rings or washers in the holes???

If I remember right - since it has been almost 3 months since I last saw it, it was metal. I have the thick spacer gasket but, it isn't tall enough to put the carb at the right height so it can be bolted down. It still needs something else between the carb and intake, unless I'm just dreaming. I've got a lead on one that I'm going to go look at it tomorrow. Next time I will take pics of every part I take off on future project so I remeber what they are -- hehe than maybe a pic of where I put it so I remeber where it is when I need it.

I just had mine off. Should have took a pic but it’s molded plastic. Gasket underneath to manifold and on top is the thick asphalt gasket to the carb.
Must be nice to have a metal one.

Plastic it is. Much better to insulate the carb from heat!

you know -- I'm thinking it was plastic since you described yours and that sounds right. I even think I remeber throwing it away cause it was broke now. Think I've spent to much time with the cleaning solvents and lost a few grey cells. :(

you're right, it's a plastic spacer plate you're looking for.
Call this place:
Pinellas Carburetor(813)-930-8612
They're very good at what they do, and if you walk in, they've got every kind of spacer, gasket, etc, imaginable hanging on their walls. The mech. that works there (i've spaced-out on his name  ) knows his stuff, tell him what engine and carb model # you've got, and he should be able to hook you up.
-or-
if you don't need the long-distance, i could call them up tomorrow, price the plate and let you know.

Mine was plastic, but I bought a metal one off of a Ford for $3! Unfortunately, when I got home, my friend was waiting for me with 2 new gaskets he got from NAPA. I used them instead. No leaks.

I found a fel-pro gasket witht the help of one of the service guys at Pep Boys. The Fel-pro part number is 60529 -- its for the Ford truck V8's 265,302,351 years 1980-91 -- is an exact fit, as it should be for a motorcraft 2bl carb. This one even goes over the studs unlike the spacer I got that is for the AMC, thick cardboard looking thing. Thought I would pass this on for those who will be looking for this part later.

It's yours if you want to drive over and pick it up. I'm going to be rebuilding the engine and putting on a 4bbl manifold this spring.
You can also look for any glass or trim pieces that you want off it before it gets hauled away to the scrap yard. Send me an email at royagrimm@yahoo.com if you want anything.

Just got a new (rebuilt) carb. The one I got didn't come with a spacer plate. I doubt that buying a new carb is an option. Sorry.
