Well, on a whim I removed my catalytic converter today. WOW!!! Rotsa rotsa power, out of nowhere. Guess the old one was pretty clogged. That didn't help my stalling problem, though--and I see by the board that the problem has spread to some of my fellow Jeepers. My bad.

How exactly do I test the ignition module? I know about the old 'pound it with a hammer' test, but I was wondering if there was a test light circuit I could try or something like that.

I've also printed out Bob's TFI parts list (Bob wins the Mother Teresa award for this quarter) and I'm a-goin' parts shoppin' this weekend. Maybe slamming the plugs with more voltage will help. If not, at least it'll make me feel better :D

i think the easiest test is to simply replace the module. i dont generally advise that but in this case.there is no real way to test the stupid thing. btw, i would resolve this problem before upgrading.

I agree that driving is way over rated I just HATE driving my Jeep. I hate driving it so much I only drove it 4500 miles last month. As for the module I'd just replace it. BTW our local NAPA can test modules, you might check with yours.

Have you tried the pick-up coil in the distri.?I had the same probs and drove me CRAZY!!
-random stalls, let set 20 min. and ok
-hard hot starts

I replaced:wires, plugs, igni.module twice, coil and it turned out to be a $20 part and about 20-25 min. total time.
I used two screwdrivers to pry in place of a puller, just wiggle 'em back and forth.Pull off the distrib. cap, remove rotor, remove retaining clip and you'll see what I mean.

Our fellow Jeepsters are the ones who helped me on this.Let me know what happens.Dyl.
