EGR is this a bad sign

The valve itself opens and closes when I push on it, but when I suck on the hose, it doesnt move and I am pulling air. And when I push air into the hose, I can hear it coming out, so the EGR must be leaking? Thanks Dennis

Just jumping in to give my experience.
I thought the same thing but no your egr valve may still be ok. Some of the EGR valves are the "backpressure" type and don't hold a vacuum. I suppose if you had a strong source of constant vacuum you could get the diaphragm to move.
