With all the good advice from the board I have decided to install my Offy intake and Edelbrock 4 barrel carb.
I just had surgery so I unfortunately will not be able to do this myself. Is this a hard job to do?
How many hours am I looking at to have an experienced mechanic uninstall and reinstall the new intake and carb?
Thanks!

If you paid a mechanic you're probably looking at about 3-4 hours at shop rate ($60-$80 an hour). Maybe another half hour to tune the carb. Add in $25 for a gasket set, and some money for coolant and an oil change.

Thanks for the info. The shop quoted $55/hour which I thought was reasonable.
Thank you.

YOu have a lot of guys from the board that live in your area. Just invite them over buy some beer and I am sure they will help you do it for nothing!

Greg, before you proceed, give me a call. I have some info you might like, although it isn't the cheapest route...... ;)

What do you have in mind? My mechanic buddy wants me to fix my 2 barrel carb and use it with the stock intake.
He keeps discouraging me from using my 4 barrel Edelbrock and Offenhauser intake.
My rig will only see minimal off-road action.
