My oil pressure has been steady at around 40 while warm on the freeway and between 40-45 at cold idle. It drops a few when warm and idling but only like 5lbs. Latley I've noticed my average oil presure while warm has raised to 45 and I'm blowing oil out of my dipstick tube. I blow out about 1/2 quart every 45 minutes unless I pamper the throttle. I checked the PCV and it still rattles. Does anyone know of possible culprits for this. One last thing is it's been runnig a little rich since the oil pressure went up. I'm not sure if any of these things are related.

Ensure that your dipstick tube is not broken or cracked at the block... mine was and would pour oil out of it at the point where the tube enters the block.

Any chance you may have overfilled it with oil?

Did you check the tube that goes from the pvc to the carb? Sometimes they get choked off with gunk. Also another way to check your PVC is to start the motor and let it get up to operating temp pull the PCV valve and hose from engine and block the end with your finger. The engine speed should drop by 50 rpm. If it doesn't drop at least 50 rpm then the valve is defective. Even if your PCV vavle rattlles, if there is crude in it you sould thourghly clean it with a solvent.

Hope it's you PCV, if it's not, then check compression. Could be a broken ring.

Going through the same thing with my Wag, spitting oil out the dipstick and filler neck, and anywhere else a gasket isn't. Did the compression test, got a big goose egg for compression on num 4 and 6 cylinders, yanked the head and found a hole in my num 6. The exhaust valve spring on the number 4 was busted. Now I just need a kitchen pass from the wifey so I can get it put back together

There's obviously too much pressure in the crankcase for some reason. Either it's a hard part problem that should show up on a leak-down test, or the PCV, or it's plumbing -- probably nothing you didn't already know. I was hoping that by the time I typed this far I'd have figured out why that makes it run rich, but if it don't come in the next few keystrokes, I guess I'm dry on that one.
By the way, how have you determined that it is running rich?

If you are sure your PCV is working, start engine pull oil cap off you should see NO Vapor escapeing if you do, its blow-by (bad rings) or your PCV is not working. ;)

If you believe that it's running rich due to the lack of power you are expeirencing you may be mistaken on the symptom. It could seem like it's runnung rich because it's probably behaving in a sluggish manner due to all the compressed air in the oil pan. My guess is a clogged PCV as others have mentioned. Your oil pressure increase is most likely also due to the compressed air in the pan.
