Hello all. My first post. Hope to be doing a lot of reading here in the following weeks smile.gif

Ok, my question is this:
I have an '82 wagoneer which is bone stock. I was wondering if anyone knows if this exhaust needs to be updated due to new laws.
Also, are the cats bolted on or welded on? (I will see this tomorrow if I don't get a reply first)

And I think a lot of the electronics, back door/glass, 2 windows (rear), dome light (doesn't come on when back doors open, or is this normal?), brake lights (but the left tail is missing, will be replacing that immediately, does that prevent the other brake light from working?), have problems. Do you think these are individual problems, or wiring problems? I was told previously that the wagoneers had many wiring issues...

Ok, I believe that's enough of my rambling. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to IFSJA,

As far as your exhuast system- only thing you have to worry about is keeping it the same as when it came out of the factory. If there hasn't been any alterations/mod's/removal of any kind other than replacing worn parts, your fine. No need for "modern updates". smile.gif

P.S. there are 50-state legal Hi-Flow cats you can use. :D

To save money,
you prolly ought to get your emission tests done first, and usually they won't charge you again if you fail and take it back. If you pass, no need for mods. If you don't, then they guy should tell you why (cat, faulty EGR, etc.). Then go from there.

Many folk get high flow cats from
summitracing.com call them and they can get you the right one.
