I'm trying to replace all the missing equipment on my jeep. I'm looking for the two one way valves (I think one is blue, the other is yellow) that come off of the flapper motors on the air snorkel. I called a jeep salvage place and they wanted $25 each. Does anyone know if I can't find a wagoneer at my local yard (likely) what would also have those valves that I could look at?
Thanks.

$25 each???
Time to find a new junk yard!
Never heard of anyone buying them new - but they are likely dealer only.

Well, it's probably not an actual yard per se, I found them on the net under jeep salvage yards. It's probably one of those places that has a few jeeps out back that they pull parts from and sell them from the front counter ( with the appropriate markup in price)

Ahh, They are standard after market valves, not a Jeep only item.
So any parts store should be able to get them or order them and I
think for less tha $25 each. (they do not like to have dirt or oil or
anything else other than air go though them, so any used ones
would be suspect in my book untill tested)

(The parts store will need to know the colors of the valves both halfs
to get you the right one)

What "color" is the valve? White on one side and
blue/brown/black on the other.
That tells you the amount of vac. delay. My bet
is that any vac delay valve with the same delay will work. (Vac delay tables are in the shop manual and maybe Haynes; offhand I think the blue is 10 seconds and the brown is 5 sec.)
If you can't get new ones at a parts store, send me an email, I may have a used one.

If it is just the one way valve and not the delay type you should be able to find them at the parts store. Look in the "HELP" section.

I found a few the same place as chrism. The HELP section at Pep Boys. I think they were around $3.

And those were the same ones that come off of the flappers on the snorkel? I'll go check them out at my parts store tomorrow.

If the flapper lever is broken, and the flap that lets air into the snorkel doesn't open with vacumn, do ya think that will have great effect on gas milage?

The problem I had was that the valve wouldn't *close* and that the flapper was always held in the open position; hence a bad start on cold mornings.
Unless the valve (or line) is clogged, the flapper should always open with engine vacuum. It's getting it to close after the right interval that is the trick.
BTW, the small black/white valve is a check valve (one way only), not a delay valve (which has a timed release of the vacuum).
