I'm using a compressor for on board air and when I turned it on for the first time it spewed oil out. I filled it up to the required level. Any ideas on how to fix this.

There may be some fluid left in the compressor's cylinders from the AC system. I removed the head on mine and drained out about a cup of oily looking stuff before I used it for OBA.

If you remove the head be very careful not to tear the gasket. You can also plug the weep hole that goes from the crank case to the right cylinder (it you hold the compressor upright and look at it from the front). This will prevent it from pulling oil up from the crankcase.
