I know this is an often asked question. Is it ok to use blocks to lift(2") the springs? Will anything else need changnig? Does it make a difference in the ride?

You should not put blocks in the front if that's what you were thinking.

If all yo uwant is 2"... get the Rancho AAL's about $60 a pair and do all 4 springs...

DO NOT ADD BLOCKS TO THE FRONT... unsafe and illegal in MANY states...

I've done exactly what you're asking, and it works fine. It will only change height, not the ride. If you want a rear lift to compenate for worn springs...don't. Replace the springs first. Then re-evaluate. The PROPER thing to do when using blocks is to shim between the block and the axle in such a way that your rear differential yoke points up a few more degrees than before. Otherwise you'll burden the rear u-joint and end up with a brand new vibration (as if FSJ's don't already have enough) If you want to know more about this, re-post w/ a new question about "driveshaft angles" and hopefully someone w/ more expertise than I will respond. Its been several years since I did this, and frankly, I forget the driveshaft angles required.

2" blocks int he back are not enough for a shim to be used. I have a shackle flip and 2" blocks in the back, the shackle flip rotated my dif just about perfect. But before the shackle flip I just had the 2" blocks (for towing/hauling done by the PO so when loaded it sat level) and nothing needs to be changed at all. Brake lines, drive linage angle and everything will be fine. You will get a tiny bit of axle wrap, but not nearly as much as if you had 4" blocks.
