View Full Version : Todd, how's the Lincoln holding up?
I just went to Loew's and took a peek at the Lincoln Weld Pak 100, it looks to be a great deal.
Are you happy with yours?
Have you tried welding sheetmetal without the gas?
I was thinking about getting the Weld Pak 130 and the Mig Pak later. Don't want to cut off my right hand to buy the welder and not be able to weld my quarterpanels in.

243, You might want to consider a Sears unit, it comes with the regulators and is cheaper. I don't know if the duty cycles are comparable.

I am thoroghly PLEASED with my Lincoln.... I have even welded a coffee can!!!!! Don't ask... ;)
I have welded without the gas in the past, but it gives alot of splatter (too much for me) plus I was just starting out (first time) and maybe wasn't doing it just right.
Here in the future I will be welding some 1/4"+ stuff in several passes without the gas using flux core.... testing things out....
I LOVE my weld pak (110VAC)
BTW how is that Delrin stuff holding up.... have you flexed it out at all and inspect for cracks yet?
I've been busy.... sorry I never got the spec to ya......I will..just want you to do the T&E on Delrin first ..... I don't want to be the "lab rat" for everything....hahaha :D

Talk to PC.... I think he used a Lincoln to get his shot panels on the rear quarters in....
Todd, our end of year bonus is just around the corner...after the wife and kids xmas is taken care of, I may have enough for the Weld Pak 100 plus the Mig Pak and go that route.
The Delrin is fine but it screeches when it's wet, probably not an issue for you.
Dan, I also looked at Sears and Hobart and am still leaning towards the Lincoln.
