I was checking for exhaust leaks today and noticed air coming from the under the valve covers. On further inspection the plug wires are turning black in the same area. Is my PCV bad or was I just an idiot when I put the valve covers back on. I used new gaskets and sealant. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks fellas.

The PCV is the first thing I would replace. Also the hose to it if it's pretty funky inside. Both are cheap n'easy.

Also, replace the oil cap and hose. Thats another route for crankcase blowby.

Make sure the tube that runs from the manifold to the carb (which contains the PCV valve) is not clogged.

I've seen posts on here where the opening in the intake for the PCV itself was cloged, or the "vents" in the shield on the underneath side of the PCV opening in the intake manifold.
