I have a 67 J-3000,my brake lights dont work, they just quit one day,my taillights work and so do my turnsignals,I thought it might be a fuse but there was only 3 fuses under my dash and they looked good,it doesnt have any type of switch that would be activated by the brake pedal,so how does it know when to activate the brakelights.I got a switch from a 77 J-20 that was opperated buy the pedal I was going to try to hook it up but I thought I would check to see if anybody had any suggestions first.
Thanks Bob

The brake lights come on when the proportioning valve is activated. If you look on the frame below the brake booster you will see a small valve that has a large plug with prongs on the top and the wires slide on (like on the t-case). This is the switch for the brake lights. Check the wires. If it has failed then you can just wire in the one from the 77 and make a plate for the brake pedal. This is what I did when I switched everything over to 79 running gear.

Just a thought, you did check the bulbs didn't you? Sometimes it's the little things.
