This may be kind of a stupid question, but there is no fill plug on the AMC 20, so how am I supposed to change the fluid?

Actually the fill plug is on the other side. It isn't on the cover. It is on the driver's side of the pumpkin, probably with a few inches of dirt and grime on it.

On my CJ's AMC 20 I had to weld a 3/8" bolt in there to get it out, but on the Waggy AMC 20 I was able to use the proper hex thingy to do it.

yeah those Torx bolts are impossible to get off.. I have tried and tried but I can't seem to get them off from the cover.. I have heard of using some sort of impact while turning to loosen them up.. but I haven't done it myself yet..

Don't recall the plug offhand....hex does sound familiar though. If you can slip a foot or so of "pipe" on the end of the hex wrench, you should be able to get some nice leverage! Use plenty of penetrating lube too....until you get it loose....let is sit for a while to let it do its thing. Then rub off any excess left, and retry with the hex/pipe/lever type thing and see if that helps. It's amazing what more leverage can do! Breaker bars are incredible tools really also, but not sure if you can hook up to those on that. I've never had an axle plug that gave me that much trouble...and I've had some doozies for trucks! So, it should be doable.....

Take care....

Yup do not fool with the rear cover torx bolts with nothing but an impact driver. You will be drilling them out if you try with anything else
