I have a 78 wagoneer and i did a spring over conversion, and a 4" drop pitman arm. I am experiencing severe bumpsteer. Is there a way to get rid of it?

Thanks
~Chris

lose the dropped arm and go with high steer arm. ill bet your drag link hits the pass leaf spring on right tuns too, steering arm will fix that too.

i also have bumpsteer.. if you don't already get a rancho dual steering stabilizer.. you will have to order it for a chevy with a d44 but its the same thing the year should be around a 79 is what i think i used..

you will still have it but you will be able to drive on the road but you will have to pay a great deal of attention to what is going on with the road...

also i think my loose steering components mulitiplies the bumpsteer so check out your steering components...

but like as said before high steering is the best option. you can find parts for it over on www.partsmikeparts.com (http://www.partsmikeparts.com) its kind or pricey but worth in the end.. i just have no money so thats why i haven't done it...

Make sure your bushings are in good condition.

As dnixon said get the dual stabilizer it will help alot. I have an SOA and a dual setup and I don't have bumpsteer that bad at all. I keep the front end well greased also.
